Holiday Rental House
This cosy 3* cottage is located in a private cul-de-sac near the centre of the pretty town of Crickhowell, in the Usk Valley. The famous Bear Hotel is about 100 metres away. We have private parking and it takes about a minute to walk to the shops. The location is great for walkers and cyclists (both off and on-road) with some serious hill climbs locally. Secure bike storage. Private yard for motorcycles or your dog. Visit Wales Walkers and Cyclists accreditation. If you are interested in a more relaxed break there are many attractions to visit within a reasonable distance and lots of short country walks you can start from the cottage. A comprehensive choice of maps and guidebooks are provided. The owners live nearby and are always available to advise. Hi Susanne Thanks for taking the time to review the cottage. You are quite right about the capricious internet but it's the same for me too. One of the troubles with rural reception. Very glad you enjoyed your stay. best wishes Jeff

A well appointed extremely comfortable cottage close to the centre of Crickhowell. We have always received a warm welcome from Jeff and Jane which is reflected in the fact we have returned on 5 occasions. Thank you, Jayne and Tommy (Teaspoons) Thomas

About the neighbourhood
Crickhowell, with it's castle. is located in the central part of the lovely Usk valley, overlooked by the ancient hillfort of Crucywel, known in english as Table Mountain. The town lies between the Black Mountains to the north and Mynydd Llangattock to the south. The very picturesque Monmouth and Brecon canal contours to the south of the town in an elevated position. There is an abundance of walking paths for all abilities from the town together with more routes in the Brecon Beacons, a short distance to the west. Crickhowell has recently gained the status of a 'Walkers are Welcome' town. Fishing and golf are available nearby. All of Crickhowell's shops, hotels and pubs are independents, for a small town there is a surprisingly large and interesting selection with great places to eat and...
How to get there
With the cottage located close to the town centre and the start of many walks and cycle rides a car isn't strictly necessary unless you wish to visit attractions further away.
