On the lower level of the deck is dinner seating with a view of the fire pit across the driveway. Leatherwood House layout includes two floors with two bedrooms perched on the second floor, one with a queen size bed and the other with two twins. The master suite is secluded from the rest of the living space on the first floor and looks out onto the deck. It has a TV with DVD/VCR. Sleeping space is also included in plush couches that pull out in the living room. A pack n play is provided for babies and an extra mattress for children when needed. Gleaming hardwood floors and ceramic tile complete the rustic quality while central air and heat are anything but backwoods. Two full bathrooms, one with a claw foot tub and the other, a nice sized shower, make for convenience during your stay. Our kitchen has all the dishes and cookware you will need with a gas range and oven, refrigerator, microwave, toaster oven, coffee maker and other small appliances. If there is anything you have forgotten or need to prepare your meals just call over to the office, we probably have it! For your enjoyment, there is a room in an alcove off the living room with board games and puzzles. In the living room, you will find satelite TV with local networks and a DVD/VCR combo with a library of movies for your viewing pleasure. Local phone service is available free of charge. A calling card is required for all calls outside the Jasper area. Steel Creek and the elk inhabited town of Ponca are close by, where hiking, horse trails, fishing, and canoeing opportunities are limitless!. The nearby Ozark National Forest and Upper Buffalo Wilderness are natural wonders that make up Leatherwood’s backyard. Don’t forget the spring turkey hunting season, small mouth bass, and fall whitetail deer season. Last but not least, between Harrison and Jasper on Scenic Hwy 7, is Mystic Caverns which offers a breathtaking, beautiful tour for all ages. Antique collectors will be more than satisfied at the non-stop shopping in Kingston, Harrison, and Eureka Springs. Jasper is filled with quaint boutiques where you can find the work of local artists or visit an open art studio. Quaint diners/restaurants complete your day with a meal out on the town. A new resturant has opened just a 10 minute drive from Leatherwood House, Low Gap Cafe, serving breakfast, lunch and dinner More

About the neighbourhood
Leatherwood House is approximately 2 miles off of Highway 74 and very secluded. We are located on the mountain in a hardwood forest above Ponca and the Boxley Valley. You can see Leatherwood's mailbox from the entrance of the Steel Creek State Park. The 2 mile long driveway borders the state park and the only thing back here besides wildlife, is the cabin and walking distance past the cabin but not in view is the owner's home. It is a gravel drive and the hill leading up to the cabin is gravel so if you are traveling on Street Bikes you may want to call and speak to the owners about accessibility. There is plenty of parking next to the cabin and some travelers trailer in their horses, tethering them in the woods next to the cabin as there are 225 acres on the property with plenty of old...
