Located in the middle of Nova gora vineyards, which are just couple of minutes away from Metlika. It is possible to go hiking, cycling or to swim in the Kolpa River (5 km away), take a hike around the village vineyard cottage called Soseska zidanica (Drasici). You can visit The Bela Krajina Museum and Kambic Gallery in Metlika. It is perfect spot for couples, families who are looking for peace, hiking, cycling and exploring the region. During the season (in April or May), its possible to visit the asparagus plantation. We loved the Brodaric house. It's on a small road up te hill that gives it lovely views over the valley towards Metlika and the mountains beyond. The house has plenty of room inside but we spend most of our time on the balcony, because...More

About the neighbourhood
Metlika was occupied even during prehistoric times because of its location. Metlika received city rights in 1365. The city was strongly impacted by the Turks and by both World Wars. Its biggest period of development was experienced in the late 19th century when Slovenia's first fire brigade, Dolenjska and Bela krajina's first literary society, the first savings and loan bank and the Metlika brass band were all established. The oldest and most attractive part of the city is the old town centre, which lies on a promontory above the Obrh stream and represents the core of Bela krajina's cultural heritage. There are also several spots worth visiting: DC-3 Airplane as a memorial of the Bela krajina and other Slovenian airports during the struggle for national liberation, the famous Three Parish...
