Braemar is a Historical Grade II Listed Thatched Cottage built in 1714 in the Conservation area of Salhouse Broads in the Heart of the Norfolk Broads and a short drive to various Norfolk Coastal Beaches. Braemar is steeped in history and is characteristic and cosy with original beams and inglenook fireplaces/bread ovens. The cottage is documented in the history of Salhouse. Braemar has a large downstairs living area consisting of two lounges, a snug and a large kitchen and dining area leading into a conservatory and a garden and patio area for outside dining. The family bathroom is downstairs and a smaller upstairs toilet/sink room. Braemar has 3 bedrooms and can sleep up to 5 guests plus an infant - Travel Cot. We are Family and Dog Friendly. Braemar is a great base to discover all that Norfolk has to offer with many local tourist attractions, boating, horse riding, golf and beaches within driving distance. Salhouse is a Village 2 Miles from Wroxham - The Capital of the Norfolk Broads, 5 Miles from the Medieval City of Norwich and a short drive to many beautiful coastal areas to include Horsey - Horsey Seal watching, Holkham Beach, Wells-Next-the-Sea, Winterton on Sea, Cromer and Great Yarmouth. Salhouse boasts Britain's Finest Nature Reserve where you can swim from the riverside beach and hire canoes or try paddleboarding. It is an area of peace and tranquility, outstanding natural scenery, abundant wildlife and wonderful views, footpaths and broad walks to bring you closer to wildlife. Salhouse has 2 local pubs - The Bell Inn and The Fur and Feather which has Woodforde's Brewery attached to it and The Prima Rosa Tearooms. Local convenience stores are a 5 minute drive and the local superstore is a 10 minute drive. There are many restaurants and local attractions in the area. More

No parties, events, hen or stag parties allowed. Toilet trained and well behaved dogs only - Dogs are not allowed upstairs or on the furniture. No food or drink to be consumed in the Snug Room due to the nature of the material of the sofa and the carpet. Candles are not permitted at Braemar. Please remove your shoes before entering Braemar. Please respect our neighbours and our community.

Salhouse is hidden amongst the trees, in the heart of the Norfolk Broads and one of the most picturesque areas in the entire region. Salhouse Broad is on the River Bure between Wroxham, the Capital of the Norfolk Broads and Horning. Salhouse, Salhouse Broad and the surrounding area is a haven for wildlife, country walks, boating, cycling, horse riding, golf, fishing and many other tourist attractions and activities as well as the Norfolk Coast within easy reach and the Historical City of Norwich. Salhouse is within walking distance to 2 local pubs - The Fur and Feather in Woodbastick or The Bell Inn in Salhouse. There are various restaurants and pubs in the area and lots of interesting places to visit. A great base to explore!
Getting around
The most convenient way to travel around and explore besides country walking and cycling would be by car. There is a train station in Salhouse and bus routes to surrounding villages and the historical city of Norwich.
