The property is a more than 100 years old small chateau, oroginally wine producing. An old barn has been newly renovated with a great sense of charm and demand of high quality. We offer a vacation in a quiet charming village, next to the vineyard in a beautiful region with lots of possibilities of activities. A 10 x 5 meters swimmingpool is shared by the two houses. Playground for children close to the houses and a park is available. The gite has two bedrooms, livingroom with dining and kitchen area and a family bathroom, all in charming style and high quality. Private terrasse and parking.

We booked this spot on Tripadvisor to find a nice and sielent place in France. The landlord and wife are very nice people and the place is perfect. We will be back soon.

Beautiful & peaceful holiday place
Our family (2 adults, 2 girls 14/9 years old) spent 2 weeks in August 2019 in Maison de Cheminee. We had a lovely time there.
It is a beautifully restored holiday house and contains everything that is needed for a great break. It is in top condition, very clean and tidy.
The grounds are well kept by the owners. The pool and pool area was also very clean. Our daughters loved the pool but also enjoyed playing on the the climbing frame.
We did a few day trips to Bordeaux and Royan which were not too far away.
Lars and Suse were extremely welcoming hosts. They provided us with information of local events and were there for any queries.
We had a fab holiday and would definitely recommend it!

Very quiet and friendly guests
Nice and clean guesthous. We had a friendly welcome and received local products.
Ideal place to relax in the big garden or next to the swimming pool.

The small houses in perfect sorroundings, warm welcome of Susanne og Lars. Perfect for a relaxing holiday, lots of possibilities to visit small towns, brocante and
Wide de grenier, explore the good food and fine wines in the area. Visit the fabulos city of Bordeaux or Blay and its lovely citardel. Go to St. Emillon.
Everyone will feal at home here. We will be back.

Great holiday house with big pool and very nice hosts
Our family of 2 adults and 3 children (daughters aged 2, 8 and 12) stayed for two weeks on June 2015 and enjoyed our stay very much. Very nice house with good facilities and large, clean pool. Located on peaceful and beautiful countryside but just about 5 min drive to nearest supermarket and other services of Etauliers town. Lars and Susanne were very welcoming and nice hosts and did a lot more than we could expected, for example arranged visit to Cognac winery and came with us to repair shop when we had some problems with our car. Area is also very interesting, there is a lot to do and see within day trip distance (for example Bordeaux, beaches of Atlantic ocean, caves, castles, wineries, markets, Dune de Pilat etc.). Only thing we missed was air conditioning because weather was very hot during our stay. House can be recommended to everybody but I would say that car is a necessity, there are no services within reasonable walking distance.

Wonderful holiday among the vines of Bordeaux
We are just back from a wonderful holiday in Coindrias. The gites are set in a beautiful garden surrounded by vines and beside the very clean pool. The gites are one of the best equipped self catering accomodation we have every stayed in. Lars and Susanne were so helpful and welcomiing throughout our stay. Coindrias is a very good base for exploring the wine country, we took the ferry from Blaye ( 15 mins ) over to see all the famous vineyards, and Lars kindly organised wine tastings for us at one of the Chateaux.
We had lunch in St Emilion and climbed the kings tower to view the pictureque town full of character.
One of the highlights was going to the night market in Montendre, after a day of rain, the showers cleaned and we tried some escargots and local Mussels, as well as sampling some local pineau, rose, ice cream and of course crepes.
Hope to return next year.

Pareltje in de Gironde!
Midden tussen de wijnvelden ligt dit leuke Chateau. De oude stal is omgebouwd tot 2 prachtige huisjes, smaakvol ingericht en van alle gemakken voorzien. De tuin is prachtig. Grote BBQ. Mooi groot zwembad. Lieve gastvrije eigenaren. Heerlijke plek vanuit waar je de Gironde goed kunt ontdekken.

In the gite a guide to activities and tour suggestions can be found including a number of tourist brochures.Blaye (15 km) is located at the riverside of the Gironde and is dominated by the Citadelle, which is a manifique fortress which is a must see;. The tide can be seen all along the riverside of Gironde. A small ferry takes you from Blaye over the Gironde to the Medoc peninsula, where the exeptional route de chateau can be followed and a number of the most famous wine groving castles can be seen. At some of them a wine tasting is offered.Along the Gironde riverside there are sevaral bird sanctuaries and for the ornithology interested this is a must seee;.Every day there is a market in one of the near by villages. In Montendre (12 km) there is in July and August a weekly night market, where you can listen to music and eat together with the locals in the streets.Golf can be played in Mondendre as well. Green fee is 10 euro.In Etauliers (3 km) you can once a month rent a go-cart (10 euro) and try it yourself.Magnificant underground caves can be seen a number of places wihin short distance. Guided tours are available as well. The Gironde area is softly hilled and very well suited for bycycling tours. Old railways have been turned into bycycling routes and maps can be provided from the tourist offices..St. Emilion (50km) is a fascinating, extremely charming, small village surrounded by some of the most famous castles and is a "must see".Archachon (100 km) is the city at the cost line south of Bordeaux, where the Boedelaise have there summer recidences. It is a fashionable shopping area with restauranrs and cafes and of course the beach. Near by is the Dune du Pilat - the greatest dyne in Europe, which is a visit worth while.Bordeaux (55 km) is an aristocratic beautiful city, which is a must see.
