The property is a more than 100 years old small chateau, originally wine producing. An old barn has been newly renovated with a great sense of charm and demand of high quality. We offer a vacation in a quiet charming village, next to the vineyard in a beautiful region with lots of possibilities and activities. A 10 x 5 meters swimmingpool is shared by the two gites. Playground for children close to the gites and a parc is available. The gite has two bedrooms, livingroom with dining and kitchen area and a family bathroom, all in charming style and high quality. Private terrace and parking.

During your stay, we will be available for you. We can give you ideas for things to do or help with booking a table at a restaurant or what else you might need help for.
We visited Coindrias for the fifith (!) time this year and, once again, we were delighted from the moment we stopped the car. The gite is so well-designed that even on the hottest days - and we had some very hot days this year - there is a gentle breeze running through the house. We kept our shutters firmly shut and the windows open to great effect this year.
Susanne and Lars are the perfect hosts, they have a font of local knowledge and can recommend excursions, sights and great places to eat. For peace and quiet and time alone together, or with your family, you will not find anything to match this little oasis that they have created.

Peaceful perfection
I write this after our 3rd visit to our little corner of heaven - and we booked to come back in 2018 before we even left this year!
It's a delight to see every little change and improvement in the property. Susanne and Lars have been busy bees this year, with beautiful upgrades in the garden and pool area. Our delicious welcoming basket of local produce was gratefully received, as this year we arrived too late for the local supermarket.
A 3-minute drive to the local town, with a well-stocked supermarket in one direction, and a 5-minute drive to the Autoroute in the other direction, really does give you the best of both worlds in this stunning location. Total peace and quiet, but also with easy access to all amenities. There are so many lovely spots to visit in all directions around this spot, we never fail to find something new on each visit.
We can't wait for next year to see how the new vines have settled in and to decompress in our place of peace and perfection.

Quiet and beautiful location
I have had the pleasure of staying in Maison de quatre niches for a week. I can highly recommend the fully equipped house which is located in a beautiful and peaceful area surrounded by vineyards. The garden is big and beautiful and there is a lovely swimming pool shared by only two rental homes. The hosts are very friendly and helpful. They speak both English, French and Danish.
I am already looking forward to coming back.

Heaven on a shoestring
As I write this, I am 5 days into my second stay with Lars and Susanne in MQN. We were looking for peace and tranquility in a beautiful remote setting and we've found it all right here.
3 minutes down the small country road, we have a bustling country town with an excellent supermarket and 5 minutes in the other direction and we are onto the A10, taking us on one of our many excursions.
Bordeaux is 40 minutes away and a real jewel of a city - great galleries, historical sites and shopping - and the Aquitaine is a delight from one end to the other.
The gite itself is a home away from home. Well-equipped and roomy kitchen. A great charcoal BBQ, and even in the stifling heat the breeze blows through the vineyards that surround the gite and keeps the house very comfortable.
Great value. Great hosts, who are incredibly welcoming and helpful with local knowledge. Perfect facilities - we share the pool with just one other family, so we often have it just to ourselves!

Wonderful property and hosts
Our stay at maison des quatre niches was excellent, the house was first class, we had a lovely week, both from a relaxation and weather wise point of view, and our hosts Susanne and Lars were truly excellent people, nothing was too much trouble.
We will definitely return.

Wonderful, Tranquil and Charming.
My partner and I couldn't have had a nicer week. The gite has very recently been rebuilt and is appointed to a very high spec, but manages not to loose its period charm. Everything we could have needed (including a basket of fresh local food & wine) was provided. Linen, furniture and cooking utensils etc were all provided, and were of an excellent standard. Lars and Susanne were wonderful hosts; friendly and hospitable whilst also giving us plenty of space to relax and spend time together. The property is stunning, with their gorgeous parkland garden and the adjoining vineyards both literally running up to the front porch of the gite. A perfect romantic retreat.
We found it a very easy journey from Bordeaux airport, and the local area is sleepy, idyllic, and not mobbed with tourists, so a lovely spot for some laid back exploring, in between evenings on the fabulous local wine.
Highly, highly recommended.

A wonderful escape
This was our first driving holiday to France and although we were nervous it turned out to wonderful and we will definately be doing it again. A large part of the success was the accomodation.
The site is well located close to the local villages and easily accessible from the highway (although we did get a bit lost on the way in).
The unit itself is clean and well set up. Since there are only two units on the site it we found it very peaceful and relaxing. Our kids (7,7 and 10) spent most of their time in the pool and exploring the gardens but we also took them on walks around the area and even managed a few bike rides (the bikes were kindly provided by our hosts). Access to wifi on site also was very useful.
A few highlights:
* On arrival we found a most delightful welcome pack of local wine, bread and spreads provided by our hosts.
* Popping off early in the morning to get fresh baguettes, and eating them on the patio with fresh coffee.
* Visiting the local market in Blane, getting fresh sardines and trying to cook them.
* Visting Bordeaux which is magnificent.

In the gite a guide to activities and suggestions to tours can be found including a number of brochures.Blaye (15km) is located at the riverside of the Gironde and is dominated by the Citadelle, which is a manifique fortress which is a must see;. The tide can be seen alongt the riverside of Gironde. A small ferry takes you from Blaye over the Gironde to the Medoc peninsula, where th de chateau can be followed and a number of the most famous wine growing castles can be seen. At some of them a wine tasting is offered.Along the Gironde riverside there are several bird sanctuaries and for ornithology interested this is a must see;. Every day there is a market in one of the nerby villages. In Montendre (12km) there is in July and August a weekly ;night market;, where you can listen to music and eat together with the locals in the streets.Golf can be played in Montendre as well. Green fee is 10 Euro.In Etaulier (3km) you can once a month rent a go-cart (10 euro) and try it yourself.Magnificant underground caves can be seen a number of places within short distance. Guided tours available as well.The Gironde area is softly hilled and is very wellsuited for bycycling. Old railways have been turned into bycycling routes and maps can be provided from the tourist offices. St. Emilion (60km) is a fascinating, extremely charming small village surrounded by some of the most famous castles and is a "must see".Arcachon (120km) is the city south west of Bordeaux at the Atlantic costline, where the rich "Bordelaise" have there summer recidences. It is a fashionable shopping area with restaurants and cafe's and of course the beach. Near by is the "Dune the Pilat", the greatest dyne in Europe, and is a visit worth while.Bordeaux (55km) is an aristocratic, beautiful metropole with shopping, boulevards, restaurants and bars and is must see;.
