It is a detatched property in its own grounds but is not isolated being within 10 mins walk of the local village, St Puy, where you will discover all amenities, including restaurant and bakery. A relaxing country retreat with the convenience of facilities close by. The house is spacious, light and very well equipped with excellent fittings and is tastefully decorated with a mix of antique and modern furniture with a touch or french 'chic' in the elegant mirrors and chandeliers. The many guests, staying here whether families or smaller groups, have enjoyed the quiet restfulness, the beautiful gardens and pool and been delighted by all there is to offer in this wonderful historic location. Additional amenities & feature info
The cooks in your party will find the kichen very well equipped including a range style cooker with wok burner and griddle plate, and an American fridge/ freezer with chilled water and ice dispencer. Island unit with granite top and chunky chopping block, plus large oak table and chairs. There are several cookery books, which are well worth a read, even for those who don't cook, for their interest and information about the locality with evocative titles such as 'Goose fat and garlic' and 'Memories of Gascony' in which, Pierre Koffmann, the Michelin starred London chef, talks about his childhood visits to his grandmothers' farm in St Puy which inspired many of his recipes. In the utility room, there is a washing machine and second american fridge/freezer to ensure adequate space to chill drinks and icecream. The kitchen leads into an informal family room with comfy sofas and mod cons such as, 57'' flatscreen satellite T.V , internet access, i pod docking station, and wii, plus lots of board games. This room has French doors which open out onto a very large, tiled, sunny south facing terrace, with a covered area and outdoor kitchen with stone sink, worktop and large barbeque. You can relax in the comfortable furniture and read in the shade or eat at the large outdoor table which seats 10 or for the more energetic, 'anyone for pingpong?' Full size table and bats and balls supplied. The terrace is attractively decorated with pots of Olive and Lemon trees. There is also a set of Badminton equipment on the upper terrace and Petanque / Boules which can be played to the front of the house. There are many seating areas, shaded or sunny throughout the garden. There is also a sturdy wooden swing and slide for the children. There is a second large salon with sofas, T.V, , C.D player, and a selection of books and board games. On the first floor, there are 2 large double bedrooms with 'en suites'. Both have baths and separate shower cubicles. A further small child's bedroom with single bed leads from the main bedroom. All have original built in wardrobes and lovely views over surrounding landscape. On the second floor, there are a further 2 bedrooms, which we call the' hayloft rooms'.which were converted from the old 'grenier'. They are packed with rustic charm, lovely oak beams, stone walls and pretty furnishings. There is 1 room with double bed and second with 2 singles. There is a shower room with washbasin and W.C which serves these 2 rooms.
