We had a great stay, the cottage is clean, quiet, well maintained and well equipped. Local shops are very close, we used them a lot to buy local produce.

Broughton in Furness is a quaint Lake District village, boasting several good pubs, cafes and eateries, an award winning bakery, and a splendid butcher and greengrocer. There is also a newsagent and a tourist information centre in the Square, just up from the CGP Pitstop garage, which sells fuel and a goodly selection of other consumables.
Only 25 minutes from either Barrow in Furness, or Coniston, the central Lakes are then easily accessed within an hour of the village, so a great base to explore all the surrounding areas of the western Lake District have to offer.
Getting around
A car is by far the most convenient way. There is a limited rural bus service which will take you to Ulverston or Barrow. The nearest train station is Foxfield, about a mile away, and from there you can catch trains to Barrow in Furness or Millom, and as far north as Carlisle if you want to explore a little further afield.
