High on the fell, with breathtaking mountain views from every window, there are wonderful walks from the door (including one to a waterfall and one to a mountain lake) and only skylarks and sheep to listen to, far from traffic. Yet there are loads of great things to see and do nearby, from the little steam train that puffs its way to the coast to an owl sanctuary and the Cumbria Heavy Horses Centre. This is a less crowded part of the Lakes, but Lake District favourites like Beatrix Potter's Hilltop Farm are within easy reach. You're not far from beautiful sandy beaches either. lovely view and calm location

About the neighbourhood
This is the Western Lakes - a much less crowded but dramatically beautiful part of the Lake District National Park. You are within easy driving distance of Lake District favourites like Beatrix Potter's Hilltop Farm,but also to the coast, where there are beautiful, wide, sandy beaches with the mountains as a backdrop. The cottage itself is high on the fell, with Scafell Pike rising in front of you, and sweeping moorland to one side. Wonderful walks from the house go to a waterfall one way, and small, mysterious mountain lake on the other.

You'll need a car to get around here, but it's also a very popular spot for cyclists.
