This quality 5-bedroom house has awe inspiring views towards the town of Stornoway and the landscape beyond. The owners bought the house principally for the views. The house has 5 bedrooms (one en-suite), one other bathroom and a toilet/washbasin in the utility room. There is a large kitchen with dining area and substantial living room. The Master bedroom has a King Sized bed, bedroom 2 has a king sized bed and a single bed as well, bedroom 3 has a double and bedrooms 4 and 5 are twins. There is an infants cot available. The whole configuration is subject to change without notice. The town is around 5 miles away, the airport about 3 miles and the ferry terminal about 5 miles. Shops, public transport etc are all easily available. The house has been popular in the past with pilots, doctors, engineering staff and contractors working on the island who have often brought their families with them. To provide the most flexible arrival times, the house is normally made available any time after 4:00pm on day of arrival. Simply collect the keys from the key safe at the front door. You will be given a code before your arrival. There is a blue book, usually in the kitchen, that details WiFi codes, sights, restaurants and other personal recommendations. Exit time is strictly before 10:00am on day of departure unless by prior written arrangement. Normally, the caretaker or the owner is never too far away and can be contacted by phone. Entry is flexible after 16:00. You will be provided with a code to access the keys from a key safe. Likewise, departure is flexible, but before 10:00am.

We spent the week here exploring Lewis and Harris and the house was perfect for us. Modern, spacious and everything we could’ve needed and we’d use it again

A house silent in the near of the cliffs enough room but only 2 bathrooms with shower not 3 bathromms,the 3 was just a toilette,very nice rooms,nice kitchen

About the neighbourhood
The house is situated in the area known locally as Swordale, which is a small village in Point - a peninsula tenaciously joined onto the main island by the Braighe - a thin causeway. There is a community shop and café about half a mile from the house on the way to town. Art, craft, groceries and a chat with the locals is available here.The house is set in a rural location, yet the main town of Stornoway is only 10 mins away by car. The airport is halfway between the town and the house. The views from the front of the house are absolutely stunning and a spectacular feature of the house. The vista allows residents to see the Scottish mainland, South Lochs, the Braighe, and ferries, cruise liners etc., making their way to and from the mainland. Getting around
Getting around is very easy. The bus stops only a matter of a few meters from the gate of the house as it turns on its way back to town again, usually at intervals of 20-30 mins It simply could not be more convenient. Taxis drivers are familiar with the house too and it's reasonably cheap. If you are bringing your own bikes, it is about half an hour to cover the 7.1 miles and mostly flat to the centre of town. By car (recommended), a quick tour of the island is to head towards town, onwards to Barvas and take a right to Ness if you've time, or left to Carloway. At Carloway, follow the road to Uig for some remote but fantastic sights, or turn towards Luerbost and continue round the circle back to town.
