A world of its own. peace and serene. Walk across the street to enter Kealakekua Bay (aka Dolphin Bay) to be with dolphins (I'll tell you how if you're interested :) Swim in the nourishing crystalline blue water or walk 5 minutes to the left and snorkel at Manini beach. Enjoy many species of marine fishes. Another beloved swim/snorkel spot is Honaunau National Park, 10-minutes drive away. Sleep to the lullaby of ocean waves. The Queen Bed and 2 Futons (pull out to 54' beds) are all good quality and comfortable with 100% cotton bedding. There are few reviews because this is a new listing since September 30, 2018. I am available to provide information or just drop in for a friendly visit. If you prefer to be left alone, I stay very quiet upstairs with my cat, Om.

About the neighbourhood
House is in a small community known as 'Manini Village' with 40 to 50 houses spread out between Kealakekua Bay and Manini Beach. You can walk to either beach in 5 minutes. There is no commercial business once you are down here in the 'Bay'. Only sounds of ocean waves and birds. Views of ocean, sunrise and sunset everyday. This little spot has very little rain year round. There is a microclimate on this Island every few hundred feet. At Manini Beach, there is a park with shades, grass lawn and picnic tables. Local musicians sometimes come and play together. Nearby Ke'ei Beach is a less known authentic Hawaiian beach for the long time native dwellers. It is reachable by car, the road is rough, but can also hike there in an hour.
Getting around
There is no public transportation outside of the main part of town, Kailua-Kona, along Ali'i Drive. I recommend you get a rental car and pick up food and drinks when you pass through town. There is also and excellent grocer, Choice Mart in Captain Cook located 15 minutes from my house.
