What a great find! Stay like a "local" at Luis's place right off Central Park. Walk to a great selection of restaurants, the subway and the "North Woods" trail in Central park. Found very nearby on-street parking too!

1 1/2 blocks to subway and Central Park. Whole Foods and Trader Joe's 5 minute walk. 95th Street is very quiet. Living room is comfortable and exactly as pictured. Bedroom is huge with good bed and plenty of storage. Flooring and rugs beautiful. Kitchen is adequate for short term stays. Fridge is mini with very tiny freezer. Full size washer and dryer. 2 bathrooms. One with a Jacuzzi tub. The other with a mini shower. The cons are: the entry stairs are dark and difficult, the entry gives a bad impression with mold, open wires and no light. This unit is a basement and is dark. The sink in the first bath is not attached to the wall. Needs a good cleaning all over and fix the lighting issues - mostly at the entry. Junk in patios and in the unit need to be removed. Luis is very pleasant and available. Overall this is reasonably priced and what you see is what you get.

I'm responding here because I differ slightly on this review. Let me start off by stating this townhouse/brownstone doesn't have a basement. If you look at the website Townhouse Experts/Vandenberg they have architectural drawings of townhouses, the floor below the parlor floor is labeled as garden floor. Some call it the garden floor I call it the ground floor. The floor above is 10 feet above street level on this house. For people that don't live in the cities I would describe the 2 lower floor set up as similar to a high ranch or a split level. If you look at the pictures of the bedroom the two doors that have blinds lead to the garden, at garden level no stairs. The pictures of the living room have two windows at a normal height level, basements usually have windows high up close to the ceiling in Manhattan basements don't have windows. The ground floor walls are wood and sheet rock it's just a matter of taste, if you open the blinds in the front and back it brightens the apartment there's also plenty of lighting in the apartment. The picture's for the apartment is what your getting, I've been told the apartment is much bigger than the pictures depict most guest are surprised with the size. Luis was really welcoming when we arrived and showed us around the apartment. It was spacious and clean, and less than a five minutes walk from the subway, shops, and park. The neighbourhood was lovely and we felt safe for the two weeks we stayed. The bed was super comfy, and the presence of a washer and dryer was really handy. I can't recommend this apartment enough and we would definitely stay again!

This is a great little spot right near Central Park. We spent 5 days exploring the city and had easy access to the Met, MOMA, MNH and a wide variety of restaurants and shopping. This apartment is spacious and comfortable, located on a quiet street. There is a nice sitting area out back just off the bedroom which was a great spot for morning coffee and evening beverages. We were able to walk to wonderful restaurants within a few blocks. The subway is only 1 1/2 blocks away. Louis was a great host and gave us plenty of help finding everything we needed. We had a wonderful stay and will definitely be going back.

We stayed here for a week over New Years Eve. Very spacious apartment that had everything we needed. Luis was very accommodating and helpful including assisting with our late flight arrival checkin. The facilities were good quality including heating, washer/dryer, linens and functional kitchen. The quality of the furniture and fittings made our stay even more enjoyable. The two bathrooms were an added bonus. The location was perfect as walking distance to shops, subways and sights ( Central Park). This is a great place to stay and can’t recommend enough. We will certainly stay here again if available when we next return to New York.

Perfect location between two subway stations. Apartment is large and nicely decorated. Two bathrooms was a plus. Loved the location on upper west side. Owner was pleasant and accommodating. Would stay again.

Location is just perfect. Subway stations on both ends, Central Park just minutes to walk, many great restaurants and cafes around..The apartment has a lot of space and we appreciated the bedroom being located to the back. No street noise. The owner just the most pleasant host, he lives in the building and when we forgot the wifi code...he helped immediately. On our next visit to NY we will definately try to rent with him again. Thank you so very much for everything.
