Reviewed 10 November 2012 for a stay in October 2011

My husband and I stayed here last year and overall had a wonderful experience. We were met by a young spainish girl who brought us up to the house, which was located up through the narrow streets - warning you need to be quite fit to climb these! The house itself had a lot of character - quaint and white washed - very spainish. Inside it was very basic, but clean and servicable. The house was actually bigger than it looked - winding up the hillside with lots of internal steps.
The beds were comfy and linen clean. The kitchen was small and basic and i found some of the dishes a bit dusty. The bathroom was clean but the shower was located in the bath and very old , so would benefit from updating. The terrace on the roof was private and fairly spacious providing amazing views over the village and mountains - lovely place to chill out and sunbath:)
Montehaque was beautiful - very peaceful, clean , full of spainish character with friendly locals. I dream of going back. Lots...

About the neighbourhood
Montejaque is one of the beautiful white villages of Andalucia. It is located 15kms from Ronda and lies in the Grazalema Natural Park. The village has a long history reaching back to the time of the conquest by the Moors. It is built on a rocky hillside above a valley of sunflower fields, olive groves and vineyards.

In this traditional Spanish village you will, like us, soon feel part of rural Andalucian life where it is so easy to relax and enjoy a peaceful time away from the pressures of modern life. As you walk to your house you follow steep, winding streets which thread their way between whitewashed cottages, whilst a few steps further on the edge of the village, sheep and goat bells can be heard as the animals meander about the surrounding hillside.

Moreover the 21st century has b...
