The cottage is set in natural croft land and has stunning views of the loch, hills and countryside. It is in a peaceful location, within a ten minute walk to Milovaig Pier, a beach can be found at Glendale. The cottage is ideally located to visit one of Skye's best attractions - Neist Point. Free broadband wifi now available at the cottage. From 25/06/18 brand new BT broadband has been installed at the cottage, it has taken an amazing amount of time, effort and cost to achieve this. Wifi is also available at Cafe Lephin in Glendale. Pooltiel View provides the ideal cottage for relaxing and watching the ever changing vistas and is a super base for touring this mystical and historic island. Take a visit to Dunvegan Castle (the oldest inhabited castle in Scotland and seat of the Clan MacLeod) and a boat trip to see the seals basking on the rocks in Loch Dunvegan. Boat trips include a sea trip from Portree to see the varied sea and bird life including the sea eagles, glass-bottomed boat trips and a ferry trip to the Outer Isles of Lewis, Harris and Uist. No visit to the Isle of Skye is complete without a trip on the Bella Jane from Elgol to Scotland's most isolated Loch Coruisk. The island boasts some wonderful restaurants, the world famous 'Three Chimneys' has held 3 AA Red Rosettes continuously for 18 years. Skye is the most important centre for Gaelic culture outside of the Western Isles, and almost half the population speak Gaelic fluently; the Gaelic College on Sleat (Skye's most southern tip) is the most important in Scotland. For a sample of the local culture, visitors to the island during mid July can experience the two-week long Skye and Lochalsh Festival - the Feis an Eilean. One of the most popular sights on Skye is the Cuillin ridge, made up of jagged snow-topped peaks, which can be seen from miles around, and are suitable for experienced walkers. The other main attraction on the island is the unusual rock formations of the Trotternish Peninsula, where the pillars and pinnacles are at their most dramatic in the Quiraing above Staffin Bay, on the east coast. Whilst on the island, the capital Portree is worth a visit, with its picturesque fishing harbour encircled with restaurants, and a mile or so out of town, visitors can also experience the Aros Centre. For larger parties of up to 16 the neighbouring property (248808 Waterfall View-sleeps 8) can also be booked.More

About the neighbourhood
10 minute walk to the pier with mackerel fishing at high tide. A beach can be found at Glendale or further afield is the coral beach at Claigan, Dunvegan. There are many enjoyable walks including a lovely walk out to Neist Point lighthouse, where if you are lucky you may spot Minke whales and other wild life. Walks include: Ramasaig Cliffs, Dunvegan Woods, Waterstein, Hamara River and MacLeods tables. If you enjoy swimming outdoors then try Glenbrittle’s magical Faerie Pools, or try kayaking, sailing, fishing or scuba diving in the crystal clear water around Skye's coastline. There are numerous boat trips around Skye to see the wildlife and other islands including a trip on the Bella Jane from Elgol to access Loch Corruisk.
Getting around
A car is essential to explore the island as public transport is very limited.
