This attractive village, beloved of artists. is an ideal place for a holiday, being centrally placed for the mountains and the sea. and on the very edge of one of the largest wild areas left in Europe, the Alcornocales Park. It is particularly good for walkers, bird watchers and botanisers and is surrounded by villages and towns of archaeological and historic interest. Fans are provided for the summer months and electric radiators and gas stoves for the winter.

Swimming towels are provided so that you do not have to travel with them. The pool is 6.30 metres x 3m. x 1.50 all over. Beside it is a bougainvillea covered arbour.

The house is very well stocked with reading matter to suit all tastes and jigsaw puzzles and has a very extensive information book about what to do and what to see in the immediate area. The owner is an archaeologist who can advise on sites to visit. She is also interested in the local wild flowers and can advise where best to see them

About the neighbourhood
Jimena de la Frontera is one of the 'White Villages' of the Ronda area. It is a very pretty village built on a free standing hill crowned by a Romano-Moorish castle. Every street is picturesque. Donkeys and mules still wander around and the local people are very friendly. It remains the real Spain. The valley in front is agricultural growing mainly oranges while behind in the mountains stretch extensive and magnificent cork forests and almost undisturbed forests of Canary Oak. For bird watchers and botanists this is a paradise. The main industries are cork cutting, the collecting of chanterelles and the collecting of heather roots for Briar pipe making.
