Last December 2022, following a very exhausting Christmas, my family decided to celebrate Christmas away from home this year in 2023. After a few hours reviewing destinations and villas, we carefully selected Villa Lunar Mar. We submitted our request for the Christmas week period to the owners and were delighted when they responded in the affirmative and we completed our booking. Over family get togethers in the intervening months we have excitedly discussed our first time visit to Lanzarote and pored over the villa photographs online. I was walking to a meeting yesterday on 11 September, and a text popped up on my phone notifying me that the villa owners had cancelled our booking. I tried to concentrate during my meeting but could not help thinking about having to explain to my family, that their dreams and hopes for their Christmas holiday had apparently been shattered. I phoned the agency and they expressed a dim view of the Owners’ conduct. They volunteered to phone the Owners and explain that we were banking on the booking and had already paid for our flights, in the hope they would relent. They did not, and neither would they reimburse us for our flights, only our villa payment would be refunded. This is very nasty way to treat people. Having returned to this page to write this review I now look at the photographs of this villa and think that it is a home without a heart.

Lovely relaxing treat and a great place to get locked down in!
We stayed here recently and had a lovely relaxing time. It's such a lovely villa and perfect just to unwind, laze around and swim in the pool.
With 3 decent sized bedrooms there's plenty of space to move around but when we stayed it was just the two of us. It's ideal for a bit of luxury staying away and sunbathing!
The pool is a good size and the water is just the right temperature, it's not salty or chemically either. Perfect.
The kitchen has pretty much every cooking dish, utensil and crockery you can think of and the gas BBQ was used every day.
It is in a remote location so you will need a car, or a lot of taxis. There are supermarkets in a 5-10 minute drive away along with restaurants and shops but given the whole COVID situation a lot of these were closed.
We'd certainly recommend it and hope to go back again in the future when travelling returns to normal.

Best villa we have ever rented
Lovely peaceful location with stunning ocean views away from it all, but just a walk along the coast to Puerto Calero and Puerto del Carmen.
The villa was decorated to a very high standard and immaculately kept. Comfy beds and good quality bed linen and towels (pretty rare to find nowadays!) We would 100% stay there again.

Alle Erwartungen erfüllt und sogar übertroffen
Wenn man durch die schöne Holztür eintritt, öffnet sich gleich der tolle Blick über den Pool hinaus aufs Meer. Die Villa bietet alles, was die Beschreibung versprochen hat. Wir haben uns wirklich sehr wohl gefühlt. Wir waren nur eine Woche da. In dieser Zeit wurden auch 1x die Handtücher gewechselt und selbst Strandtücher für den Pool sind vorhanden. Sogar eine kleine Grundausstattung für den ersten Tag lag im Kühlschrank bereit. Der große Pool ist sehr gut beheizt und wurde auch regelmäßig während unseres Aufenthaltes kontrolliert. Wir haben jeden Nachmittag auch gerne nach unseren Ausflügen am Pool verbracht. Ein Auto sollte man schon haben. Die Villa liegt etwas abgelegen, ist aber daher von der Lage sehr ruhig. Alles perfekt durch Lanzarote Retreats vorbereitet und organisiert. Die Villa können wir daher uneingeschränkt empfehlen.

The best Vacation ever
We stayed in Villa Luna Mar the last two weeks of February and had a wonderful time. The villa itself is actually more beautiful than the on-line pictures can convey. We surely appreciated that we were chauffeured to the villa when we first arrived, being too travel-weary to safely navigate ourselves. Having our rented vehicle awaiting us at the villa was also a huge bonus.
The location of the villa is the best. It is situated on the coast so that we could view the sea; no neighbours close by so that we could enjoy the awesome landscape that Lanzarote provides and yet just a 15 minute coastal walk to Puerto del Carmen or 45 minute walk to Puerto Calero for picking up small groceries and taking in the most glorious sea views while getting walking exercise.
Stacy was the best manager one could ever hope for. The few times we had questions or problems that needed to be solved, she came through with immediate information and was an amazing support. Thank you, Stacy, for going far and beyond your managerial job. When we called you while stranded at the airport due to our flight out of Lanzarote being unexpectedly cancelled, you found us great place to stay the night.
Renata was an expert at organising different tours for us to participate in, such as the Yellow Submarine and the wine tour which provided pick-up transportation so that all of us could take part in the wine-tasting.
All in all, we highly recommend Villa Luna Mar and this team of very friendly and helpful people. Everyone went out of their way to provide us with the best vacation ever!
