About the neighbourhood
We love Edinburgh - experience the medieval Old Town or the Georgian New Town with shops and restaurants galore! There's usually something new to catch at the theatre or try eating by the Forth in the evening for stunning views. Dunfermline used to be the capital of Scotland before the 18th century and is equally full of history and great places to discover. Fife is the most beautiful county with 500 miles of coastal paths and amazing coastal drives! There's a great silver sand beach at Aberdour within 20 minutes drive plus the stunning Trossachs- we love the mountains. There's a fab surfing beach too. There's Deep Sea World, a large cinema complex just up the road and various golf courses plus the huge park on our doorstep- with pond!
Getting around
From Edinburgh Airport get the airport bus into Princes Street, Edinburgh then from Waverley Station it's a 30 minute train journey to Rosyth. Our house is 5 minutes walk from Rosyth train station. The local buses are fab and will take you into Edinburgh, Dunfermline or beyond. There's car hire locally and they will deliver. We have ample parking on our drive or if you prefer ( gates are narrow ) just park for free outside the house. There are two supermarkets within 5 minutes walk of our home plus lots of places to eat locally or in Edinburgh. If you have a car you can explore Fife or further afield in Scotland from our well placed home. You could also explore Fife on bicycles or by train. There are excellent transport links.
